I keep telling people about this post which
I can't stop thinking about it :0

Has anyone on here ever cooked anything I've given the recipe for on here?
If so, can you please let me know what you cooked, and what you thought of it. I'm trying to sort out a recipe book, so I need input from anyone out there who has actually used one of my recipes.
Claire, can I also enlist you to help me with the vegan hints?

I managed to do something fairly selfish today. Well it is in my eyes.
Despite the fact Mina struggled in all last week despite being ill, and there is stuff which needs doing at work, 2 things which would usually send me into a guilt spiral, I still phoned in sick.
I mean I AM ill but normally I'd have gone anyway cause the guilt would be too much to bear and then I probably would have sent someone else home cause they looked poorly.
Ian has caught my cold which IS setting off my guilt cause now I keep thinking he might have to go to hospital if it goes on his chest (ian's condition means he can't cough 'productively' as his spine is severed above the bit which controls those really hearty coughs which feel great when you're ill).
I think the fact I have called in sick, whilst annoying for them, is a big sign of an improvement in my psyche. I know they can cope without me, I know I need to feel better. Hurray!

I'm in bed ill. Holly seems to think sitting on my head will make me
feel better (lightened as I'm lying in the dark)

This is a brilliant comedy, at least on a par with Peep Show which could be reason 8. If you haven't seen it, please try it. It's all set in one room, all 17 episodes, and the characters are amazing. Robert Webb as the repressed Robin is obviously the best. I got both series for my birthday and I've loved watching them all again while I've been ill.

this sums up prop 8 for me, and not just because i love
missed daily update as shozu didn't work. Will explain what happened on day 31. Something bad happened but I coped with it. Hurrah.
Has everyone else seen the new Marks and Spencer christmas advert? It's set in some sort of Christmas whorehouse, with a wizened madam welcoming 4 young men in to have sex with her assorted prostitutes of varying nationalities.
ETA - having looked it up online, it's actually a load of minor female celebrities who like wearing just pants, a nineties boy band andan old lady a hateful old bag from the 60s called Twiggy would you believe. learn something every day...

I thought I'd missed it, but it turns out i just have no idea what the date is despite working with a diary all week. here's Simon Amstell with a huge cake for you
# Make a post (public, friends-locked, filtered... whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of ten holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV"). The important thing is to make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
# If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) can get in touch with you. Your home address is not required!
# Make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.
STEP TWO
# Surf around your friends list (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now, here's the important part...
# If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes one person's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use - or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free - do it.
# You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf - to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not - it's your call. There are no guarantees with this project, and no strings attached. Just... wish, and it might come true. Give and you might receive. You'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
